"My postdoctoral lab had a CombiFlash EZ Prep System that hadn't been used for a couple of years and no one in the lab at the time knew how to use it. The Teledyne rep was incredibly helpful. She visited a couple of times to make sure the system was working and to show me how to use it. Anytime I had a question, she responded quickly and was very helpful. The system is very easy to use and has many great options in that you can change many parameters to get the right gradient for your separation. Some trial and error is needed to figure out the best gradient to achieve good separation. For this reason, the system is great if you are purifying the same mixture over and over again. However, if you have several different mixtures, a lot of time may need to be invested to figure out how to separate them all. In my experience, a regular column is easier and less time consuming in this situation."

"The user interface of the system is easy to use and the selection between flash chromatography and preparative HPLC is simple and clear. The only negative comment is from the injection of sample on the preparative HPLC side: The sample tends to leak out if syringe is not left on the injection port before the is started. Monitoring of the eluent levels works well and the purifications are successful."
